Victoria, Tasmania, NSW (Southern Riverina) Region – Flat Supply – Exclusive - 2022/2023


We are required by clause 12(2)(b) of the Dairy Code to publish on our website a statement of the circumstances in which we would enter into a Milk Supply Agreement with suppliers in the standard form for each region.


Circumstance Eligibility Requirements
Region
  • Victoria – Gippsland. As far east as Briagolong, as far south as Wilsons Promontory as far north as Neerim North as far west as Yarra Valley
  • Victoria Western District – As far north as the Princes Highway, east to Winchelsea and west as far as South Australian border, down to Port Campbell
  • Victoria – Northern Victoria and Southern Riverina – As far north as the Riverina region (excluding Wagga Wagga) across to the north east of Victoria, south to the Shepparton and King Valley areas and west to Swan Hill
  • Tasmania – North East region of Tasmania – Northern region to Winnaleah, eastern region to Ringarooma and no further south of Launceston
Milk requirement 625 Million Litres for the Supply Period for Victoria, Tasmania, NSW (South Riverina) Region

(Exclusive and Non-Exclusive combined)

250 Million Litres for Northern Victoria and Southern Riverina

150 Million Litres for Western District

200 Million Litres for Gippsland

25 Million Litres for Tasmania

Supply Period 1 July 2022 to 30 June 2023
Volume Criteria At the time that you offer to enter into this agreement, we have not already entered into sufficient milk supply agreements to meet our demand for milk
Supply Profile Our primary activity and milk demand in this region is the processing of milk into short shelf life dairy products. Demand for these products is relatively consistent week to week across the whole year which means that we require farmers with a Flat Milk Profile

A Flat Milk Profile is a farm that has a "seasonal supply ratio" of >40% but <60% for the coming financial year and calculated in accordance with the following formula:

 

½ Feb plus March, April, May, June, July and ½ August production
Full 12 months production
= "Seasonal supply ratio" expressed as a %

Milk Specifications Based on past performance, the milk to be supplied meets a quality standard of:

Somatic Cell Count <200,000 cells/mL

Bactoscan of <80,000 IBC/mL

Thermoduric of <2,000 cfu/mL

Compliance with our standards You are able to comply with the terms and conditions of our MSA.

New suppliers will require a visit from our Supplier Relationship Manager to ensure that the standards required will be met

Milk collection Safe tanker access and logistically efficient for us to collect.

A minimum milk collection of 400L, at least every second day, and milk is no more than 48hrs old.
