We remain committed to innovative packaging solutions that reduce plastics. We continue to evolve the “right packaging”, better circularity and educate consumers on recycling.
LACTALIS GROUP COMMITMENTS :
100% of current and future packaging solutions for flagship products and all future packaging solutions for product innovations will be analyzed using an eco-design tool by 2025.
100% of our packaging will carry waste management information by 2025 (2019: 34%).
At least 30% recycled materials in our packaging at consolidated Lactalis Group level.
We hope to move towards 100% recyclable packaging in practice in 2033 for countries with an Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) system (2019 status: 89%).
Australian Examples
Reducing Plastic
In 2023, Lactalis Australia reduced plastic by 44.74 tonnes. The majority was achieved through new initiatives (29.11T) while we continued the benefits of our 2022 initiatives including bottle weight reduction and liner updates (15.63T).
In 2024, Lactalis Australia reduced plastic by 27.24 tonnes, the majority achieved through carry over of 2023 initiatives and 8.59 tonnes from new initiatives.
Certified Virgin Paper
In 2025, 100% of virgin paper purchased was certified in Australian packaging.
Recycled Materical Usage
In 2025, 26.48% of recycled materials were used in our Australian packaging.
